Brand New Corelle + You! (Giveaway)
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting the Marion Davies house in Santa Monica, which is an incredible beachfront historical property just off the PCH. I was invited there as part of a group of bloggers by Corelle, and got to check out their brand new Boutique line of dishes as well as learn more about the company that holds a lot of nostalgic memories for me (disclosure: Corelle compensated us for our time and gave us each a set of their new Boutique dishes to try out at home. All opinions are my own!)
As a designer, I love the way that Corelle is expanding their branding- they currently have contemporary lines like Square and more traditional lines like Impressions- but with this new Boutique line, they've created an entirely new "sub-brand" with packaging geared towards their target demographic: brides. Even though they have the Corelle logo on the packaging (in keeping with their old branding), the new boxes are more modern, with a new logo for the brand, and have a subtle pattern printed on them that mimics the pattern on the dishware inside. Definitely has the look of something you'd expect to see a new bride-to-be registering for. Check it out-As someone who is both a total klutz and has very limited apartment space, I have a special place in my heart for Corelle. When I lived in Boston (and had the same space/clumsiness problems), I temporarily inherited my grandma's vintage Corelle set in the "Harvest" pattern. Coming back to CA, I had to leave them behind and inherited a set of ceramic dishes from my aunt. They're great, but they are heavy, take up a ton of space, and if I ever drop them on my slate kitchen floor, they're goners. Trust me, I've learned that the hard way. What's great about Corelle, including the Boutique line, is that they're chip- and break-resistant, super lightweight, and they take up half the space that my old dishes do. If you've ever lived in a small apartment, you know how crucial this is!
One of the coolest things about the Boutique line that sets it apart from other Corelle lines is that it has a raised, embossed pattern that you can actually feel...yet they're still as durable and lightweight as the rest of the Corelle sets. And what makes them such perfect gifts, whether for brides, new college grads finally moving into the "real world," or even Mother's Day (hint, hint!) is that they're elegant enough for a classic dinner party but can also be jazzed up with fun linens, bright chargers, or maybe even some diy ombre patterns. You know how I love my diy ;) Right now, you can get them at Kohls or online.
And the best part? One of you is going to win a gorgeous set of either the square Cherish dinnerware or the round Swept dinnerware-- just in time for Mother's Day and graduations! BONUS: I'll also design a custom "IOU" card for the winner to give to Mom or May grads, if needed, so that you'll still have something special to gift while the dishes are shipped. The giveaway runs through midnight on Sunday, May 19th, so don't wait to enter!
